Dawn and her family offer quality all-around show,
barrel, and ranch horse training, lessons, and horses for sale in the
Four Corners area of Southwestern Colorado. Whether it is a one day
clinic, week long youth camps, or private lessons, come acquire riding
skills that can be used in both the show and barrel arena or on the
trail.
Dawn grew up showing in the open and 4-H arena in both English and Western. She achieved Level IV riding levels in both western and hunter under saddle and numerous state and reserve championship before going on to college. During her time at Fort Lewis College, Dawn started running in local NBHA barrel races, competed at local open shows, and started a drill team for teenage girls called the Southwest Silverados, which performed at various rodeos in the four corners area.
After acquiring a Masters Degree in Education, Dawn taught school at Aztec High School for seven years. She has continued running and training barrel horses for the Colorado and New Mexico NBHA and AW4D competitions in the surrounding western states. She enjoys raising and training horses in local barrels and shows and matching them to their next owner.
Dawn is a certified Rater for the 4-H Levels program in English and Western and enjoys working with youth to accomplish their training on their own horses. Her goal is to teach kids how to train their own horses and to become the best rider possible. Dawn currently helps the 4-H program through teaching and organizing clinics, leading the Bayfield Riders 4-H club, and putting on several youth camps for her clients during the year.
She also has several clients who she takes to AQHA shows in the Four Corners area. Additionally, she enjoys teaching adults to be confident in their selected fields of riding, whether it be trail riding, open shows, or barrel racing.
